FAREWELL EVENING.
MISS A. HICKS HONOURED. Mr and Mrs L. C. Webb, of Maeroa, were host and: hostess at a farewell evening in the Forest Lake Hall on Thursday, In honour of Miss Alison Hloks, who has been transferred to a position in Christchurch. The evening was spent In dancing and competitions, Mr Mill being M.C. Muslo was played by Mrs Barton, Mrs Mill, Mr H. S. Martin and Mr Kiddell. Other Items which contributed to the suocess of the evening were songs by Mrs S. Hales, and humorous sketches by Mr H. S. Martin. The toast of the guesit of the evening was proposed by the Rev. R. J. Boyt, and Mr L. Webb made a presentation on behalf of those present, tooth paying tributes to Miss Hicks and expressing regret at her departure. Mr Len Nixon, on behalf of Miss j Hicks, thanked those present for the I manner In which they had honoured the toast, and for their presentation , and expressions of goodwill, and also j paid a tribute to Mr and Mrs Webb for • arranging the evening.
