Hamilton Playbox for Hawera. The winning team at last, week's drama festival in Hamilton —the Playbox in “ Maid of Domremv " —will go lo Hawera tn participate in the elimI ination contest there. Drama Festival In Auckland. The fifth annual festival of the British Drama l eague will be held in Auckland from August 17 to August 20. Many plays will be presented. Women’s. Institute Drama Festival. At the Women's Institute drama festival at Palmerston North the adjudicator. Miss Elizabeth Hoe. announced that she had placed Pohangina first in “ King’s Son. Churl’s Son," and first in the section for mixed teams. Hangiotu was stcond with "And Now the Journey.” The winning teams go to the festival of the Manawatu Area of the British Drama League which is to be held in Palmerston North on August 9 and 10. « Drama Festival at Wellington. At the drama festival in Wellington tiie adjudicator, Professor James shclley, made the following awards: — B certiireatc and the Sir Michael Myers Cup tor the team gaining tlie highest marks during the festival.— All Samis Players, "The Poacher.” U certificates.—Wellington East Old Girls' Dramatic Society, " Her Affairs in order”; Pandora Musical and Dramatic Society, "Private Lives"; Pioneer Club Drama Circle, "Joint owners in Spain"; Johnsonville Players, " Calling Hie Tune.” C certificates. —The Garrick Players, " Little Glass Houses"; the Marsden Old Girls’ Drama Club, “ Ladles in Waiting": Hie Catholic Hepertory Society, " Ebb Tide"; St. John’s Players, "On Babylonian Banks"; Peter Pan Players.
