WOMEN CRICKETERS.
LEBSONB OF THE TOUR. TEST HONOURS EVEN. United Press As«n t*’ '-nnvHghL LONDON, August 4. Discussing the tour of the Australian women cricketers, Miss Marjorie Pollard, in an article in the Morning Post, says she agre’es with Mr P. F. Warner and Mr LevesonGower that . women’s cricket has caught the public imagination. However, if nothing more is achieved it will be a miserable failure. Miss Pollard expresses disappointment that 80 per oe'nt of the match crowds were men and 10 per oent women who would never play. There were only 10 per cent of sohoolgirls, players and would-be players. The're should be more clubs affiliated to schools, hence more players. 44 Our batting and bowling technique must be improved. We have simply got to do something about it.” In the three test matches against England played during the tour the' honours are even, Australia having won one, lost one and drawn one.
