Queen Elizabeth, who is 37 years old to-day, received her first birthday wishes from the King and the two Princesses on the train on the way to Aberdeen. Many more greetings were handed in before the train reached its destination. Their Majesties and the Princess motored the 45 miles to Balmoral amid enlhusiastie scenes. QUEEN MARY’S HOLIDAY. Queen Mary will spend her -summer holiday at Sandringham House, Norfolk, the favourite country home of King George V and herself. She will remain there for several weeks, her only companion for most of the time being a lady-in-waiting. Quiet -hours in the beautiful gardens and parks will be varied by visits to neighbouring chatelaipes. Prince Edward and Princess Alexandra, the children of the Duke and Duchess of Kent, may join Queen Mary at Sandringham after their holiday at Sandwich Bay. There will then be more excursions to Hunstanton for shell collection, such as those which Queen Mary used to enjoy with Princess Elizabeth. After her Sandringham holiday, Queen Mary -hopes to visit other country houses, and may stay with her daughter, the Princess Roval.
