Mr Roosevelt has sent a letter to Senator Thomas objecting to the-lat-ter’s proposal to create a sliding scale of values by altering the dollar’s theoretical gold content. The President lias issued a warning that it would be dangerous to attempt an adjustment to any rigid pattern.
