PUKEROA STUD. HIGH PRODUCTION HERD. An attractive breeding plan, in which chief reliance Is placed on the three historic lines emanating from Soumise Majesty (imp.). Eminent's Fontaine (imp.) and K. C. B. (imp.), with a Judicious blending of the invaluable Twylish blood, characterises the Pukeroa Stud of Mr F. Geek, Te Kauwhata. It is indeed a tribute to the line of breeding decided upon by Mr Geek, and during recent years the stud has produced numerous records of a standard approached by very few oilier herds in the country. The chief objective at Pukeroa Is to test everything rather than strive for sensational individual records, and the policy has been to have one or two under test each season in the 365 days C.O.R. division and a big team under 0.H.T., or in Ihe 305-days C.O.R. section. The herd owes a good deal of its success to the Influence of that outstanding sire and Champion Butterfat Bull, Waipiko Max, whose five qualifying daughters have the great average of 6731 b fat at an average age of under three years. The present herd includes 1 i daughters of this eminently successful sire, and to follow on the good work, Mr Geek is now using a son in Leafleld Golden Max, who lias definitely proved himself to be a Champion Butterfat Bull. Two daughters have already finished with 653 and 581 lb fat respectively, both starting test at under two years of age, while three other two-year-old daughters, Pukeroa Wheaten Wafer, Pukeroa Cornflour, and Pukeroa Lucky Lass, have finished up in the 3(»5 days class with 7711 b., 5471 b., and 5741 b., fat respectively. Mr Geek has three Champion Butterfat Bulls at the stud, Waipiko Max, Leafleld Golden Max, and Pokoroa Master Les, and the young stock from these sires are in the herd. The Junior sire is the young home-bred bull, Pukeroa Valiant Max, by Leafleld Golden Max, from Leafleld Viyella, C.O.R. 6931 b fat at three years, and thus a douhlo grandson of Waipiko Max, C. 8.8. HIGH QUALITY JERSEYS. GREAT RESULTS AT KORO KORO. Koro Ivoro Jersey Stud, the property of the Estate of S. E. Soulhee and Suns, is able to parade a line of animals few Studs in the I'ominion could show. Transferring the pick of their Stud from Fending, which was established in 1911, 'Koro Koro settled on about 500 a-Tos. 3 miles from Walton, on fairly rough and hilly country. Hard 'Nork, breaking in new country, extensive culling, and sound breeding Im> placed this Sttid in a very enviable position to-day. Where—lo >cars ago the farm would hardly run 50 head of slock, it now carries 1.000 sheep and 210 head of cattle, including run cattle. Although Koro Loro Stud was allocated three Home Bred V.H.C. Cows last seison. 11 "‘ mos * important feature of the herd the iii-h general standard right through as evidenced by the fact that it included no fewer than 48 ii-'.. Cows. All the females used on the farm are home bred —the present Senior Herd Sire— l onandale Trick’s Ace, i> an inbred son of llial beautiful Show cow—Odd Trick (imp.), and several of his daughters, on C.O.R. rest as Junior 2 year-olds have finished up fo 4201 b fat, on this new country, under fairly heavy stocking conditions, without being pampered or forced. The young bulls for sale are by the herd sires mentioned, one being a two-year-old by Trick's Ace from Koro Koro's Empress (the best uddered cow this Stud lias ever bred) with C.O.R. of 5881 b. of fat as a junior two-year-old. The Monopoly strain, which is so richly represented at this Stud, has without doubt, contributed to the outstanding successes of Koro Koro, and intending purchasers should invest in this blood. AYRSHIRES AND CLYDESDALES. THIRD PART HA STUD. The herd sires are Eden Park Lord Ascot by Ascot Warrior Firefly (imp. from Eden Park Hannah and Eden Pak Dig Fellah bv Hois De La Ho,-ho Silver Star (Imp.) from Eden Park Lavinla. The latest acquisition In Hie herd is that lino imported yearling hull, Oreenan Haroscope, purchased lasi month by Mr Wallace. Oreenan Daraseopo is directly descended from l.essnessoek Sunny Jim. being sired by his grandson, Burton Butterrat, whose dam.
