The English county cricket competitions were continued, with the following results: — Surrey v. Nottinghamshire. —Surrey, first innings 264; second innings six for 319 declared (Gregory 124, Holmes 93). Nottinghamshire, first innings, nine for 346, declared (Knowles 90, Squires five for 58); second innings, j 0 for 97. Nottinghamshire won on the first innings. Yorkshire v. Lancashire —Yorkshire, first inning-s, 246 (Sutcliffe 122, Pollard five for 59) ; second innings, 168 (Iddon nine for 42). Lancashire, first innings, 324; second innings, five for 91. Lancashire won by five wickets. Sussex v. Middlesex —Sussex, .first innings, 101 (Owen-Smith five for 49) ; second innings, 180 (OwenSmith five for 83, Sims four for 10). Middlesex, first Innings, eight for 632, declared (Hendren 187, Human 125). Middlesex won by an innings and 351 runs. Worcestershire v.
