OBITUARY.

MR HENRY LEE. The death occurred at his residence, Rotokauri, yesterday, of Mr Henry Lee, aged 69. The late Mr Lee was born In Lincoln, England, and came to New Zealand with his parents in the sailing ship Cartvale, settling at Masterton. They later moved to Upper Hutt and when Mr Lee was 12 he joined the crew of the Government steamer Hinemoa and for seven years sailed under the command of Captain Fairchild. One of his many experiences while on board was with the Maoris at Kawhia when the natives caused a stir by pulling up the beacons in the harbour. For some years he was engaged in carpentering but when he married he took up land at Whiteman's Valley, Wellington. After a short time there he left to take up farming work on the late Mr E. J. Riddiford’s property at Wainui-o-moatoa. He came to the Waikato in 1912 and settled on his present holding at Rotokauri. Mr Lee is survived by bis mother, who lives in Tawa Street, Hamilton, six daughters and five sons. There are 2G grandchildren. MR A. P. GREEN. FORMER LEADING BANKER. The death occurred at Tauranga on Monday of Mr A. P. Green, a wellknown former officer of the Bank of New Zealand. •Entering tho service of the hank at Picton in 1875. Mr Green later became manager of the Blenheim. Oamaru, •Timaru and other South Island branches. He was appointed an inspector in 1904, and was manager at Dunedin and Wellington between 1906 and IPIG. In the latter year he was appointed chief travelling inspector, and in 1919 was made manager at Auckland in succession to the late Sir Henry Buckleton. on the latter's appointment, as genera] manager. He retired in 1924, hut was later appointed by the Government to he Chief Auditor, a position he held till 1930. MR R. E. ROBERTSON. WELLINGTON, Tuesday. The death has occurred of Mr Richard Edward Robertson, aged 7G. prior to his retirement, Mr Robertson was brake expert for the New Zealand Railways. He Joined the head office of the New Zealand Railways in 1915. He was the originator of the New 1 - land Safety First League for Children.
