OX BEEF OFFERING. WESTFIELD MARKET RATES. (Special to Times.) AUCKLAND, Wednesday. There was an offering of 174 head, comprising 1G steers and 158 cows and heifers against 113 head last week, at the weekly Westfield fat stock market held by Messrs Dalgety and Company to-day. The quality was first, class and selling under a good demand they report a rise of one shilling per IOOIbs for ox beef, while cow and heifer beef sold at rates fully equal to those of last week. Extra choice ox sold to 34s pe-* 1001 b; choice and prime, 31s to 365; just killable. 27s to 30s; prime young cow and heifer beef. 27s to 295; ordinary cow beef, 18s to 245. Lighter prime steers ranged from £ll 15s to £l2 10s; light prime steers, £lO 12s 6d to £ll 2s 6d; small and unfinished, £6 10s to £7 lfts; extra heavy prime young cows and heifers, £lO to £lO 10s; heavy prime, £8 10s to £9 10s; lighter prime, £7 to £8 ss; light, £5 to £6 10s: other killable cows, £.3 15s 10 £4 10s.
