MISTAKE IN THE LAW. CLERICAL WORKERS' CASE WILL BE CORRECTED. WELLINGTON, Tuesday. Commenting on the clerical workers’ judgment, the Prime Minister, Mr Savage, said: “If the intention of the Government is not expressed in the legislation it soon will be. There is only one sensible thing to do and that is to amend the law. We cannot expect the court to make decisions presses in words. “One can hardly be surprised at the mistakes in the law. No doubt we will have them and somebody will have to correct them. I said long ago that when we made mistakes, and when we found we had, we would correct them. That applies to this AIR REGULATIONS. AMENDMENTS URGED. RESPONSIBILITIES OF PILOTS. WELLINGTON, Tuesday. The Board of Inquiry into the Big Bay air tragedy recommends that no petrol other than that in approved petrol tanks be carried In aircraft carrying passengers and that a direction be issued to all pilots making cross-country flights that they send a telephone, telegraph or wireless message to their destination notifying the expected time of arrival and also that they should leave a route card with a responsible officer at home or at the aerodrome; that the provisions of Section 18 paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 of the Regulation governing aircraft employed on a regular line of service of public air transport be extended to include provision for certification by the pilot that the load is suitably secured; and that aero clubs and companies owning or hiring aircraft be advised that they should appoint some person who will be responsible for notifying the Controller of Civil Aviation of accidents to their aircraft.
