SETTLERS FAREWELLED. A farewell social was tendered Air and Mrs J. T. Johnson In the Alethodlst Hall, Pirongia. recently. Mr and Mrs Johnson are very old settlers In the district and have alwavs been greatly esteemed. Mr Johnson has farmed successfully and well a large tract or land on the Mangapiko Road, lie lias been a member or the Waipa County council for many years, and is also cnaliman of the ie Awamutu Elec - Mr and Mrs Johnson have always bepn staunch supporters of the pirongia Method - The evening was attended by a large gathering of Mends rroin all parts of the district. Solos were rendered by Mrs Bay Johnson, Miss Reine Bell and Mrs F. Webb: trio. Mrs. Miss and Mr Spencer; recitation, Atlss Spencer. During the evening Air ami Aircheque as a token of esteem from their many friends and well-wishers. They will make their new home in I•> Awamutu.
