AN APPEAL DISMISSED. CASE OF BONA-FIDE GUESTS. , liy Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Monday. The Full Court dismissed the appeal in the case of William Mackenzie v. W. J. Harper, heard on July i. The question of a hotel licensee's bona-fide guests being on premises during prohibited horn's and incidentally supplied with liquor was argued n the Appeal Court during the hearing of the case of William Mackenzie v. William John Harper. The case was one in which Lillian Mackenzie, wife of the appellant, was convicted and fined at Christchurch on a charge of supplying liquor after hours at Tattersall’s Hotel. The magistrate, Mr E. C. Levvey, found as a fact that the persons supplied were at the time bona-fide guests of Mrs Mackenzie. lie was compelled to follow a Supreme Court decision of 1926, although he disagreed with it. The appeal was taken against this finding on the ground that it was erroneous in law.
