YOUNG MAN’S COLLAPSE. (Special to Times). WIIANGAREI, Sunday. Colin John McLean (21), a member of the Waipu junior team, sustained fatal injuries in a match at Maretu yesterday afternoon. Soon after the opening of the game deceased was knocked out, and his father removed him frqm tiie ground. A little later he appeared to recover, and again took the field. As he was evidently unwell, his father again removed him and took him to the Whangarei Hospital. He remained conscious and rational until after midnight, and then collapsed and died. At the inquest the assistant-medical superintendent expressed the belief that ilea Hi resulted from haemorrhage of the skull or oedema of the brain, but lie would not give a definite opinion. The inquest was therefore adjourned lo enable a post-mortem exam ina ti on lo be in ado.
