LEAGUE OF NATIONS.
THE PALESTINE REPORT. PRINCIPLE OF PARTITION. THE ATTITUDE OF BRITAIN. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. LONDON, July 31. The Colonial Secretary, Mr W. Ormsbv-Gore, In a private address to the Mandates Commission at Geneva, emphasised that although the British Government was not committed to the partition scheme outlined by the Royal Commission’s report, nevertheless,* it was of the opinion that some form of partition represented the best and most hopeful solution of the present Arab-Jewish deadlock. The general impression In League circles, says the Geneva correspondent of the Daily Herald, is that the British Government does not intend to press for a decision at this stage, but will be content with a general discussion on the principle of partition.
