Jedrze'jowska (Poland), 6—3, 5—7, B—6. The American girl was ten times match point before clinching the victory. The Pole was a finalist at the recent Wimbledon tournament, when she was defeated by Miss Dorothy Round.

MELBOURNE, July 31 The Lawn Tennis Association Council has decided to cancel the proposed Australian tour late this year by an English women’s team, consisting of Misses Hardwick, James, Ingram, Heeley and Whitmarsh, “owing to the standard of tha.Aoam not being such as to assure the success of the tour.”
