HUNTLY FUNCTIONS.

SOCIAL AFTERNOON. I j To augment the funds of the Hunt- ' ly St. Paul’s Ladies’ Guild, a success- ■ l’ul social afternoon, arranged by Mesdames R. Schoen and J. W. Burgess, was held during the week at the residence of Mrs Schoen, in llakanoa , Street. A happy afternoon was spent in i games, competitions and items. The following items were given: Songs. Mrs R. Schoen, Mrs Horne and Mrs W. Aston; elocutionary items, Mrs E. !L. Fraser, and were greatly apprej ciated. Competitions were won by i Mesdames A. Tail, 11. T. Watkins and I Horne, and a delicious afternoon te3 j was served. Among those present were:—Mesdames R. Schoen. J. W. Burgess, .T. ! A. Ilaskett, F. Llttleproud, 11. T. Wati kins, Honey, snr., J. Honey, N. Greenwell, W. Aston, B. Aston, W. Level, D. Harmsworth, D. Luke, A. Tait, R G. D. Light-bourne, K. S. Caldwell, E. L. Fraser, I. Douglas, F. Meek, F. J. Harris, J. B. Saunders, Ilorno.

GOLF CLUB DANCE. A dance organised by members of ttie Huntly Golf Club was held in the | Parish Hall recently, when there was ! a good attendance and a most enjoyI able time was spent, j The music was played by Dave Shaw’s Band. Among those present were:—Mesdames D. E. Hart, W. Evans, I. Kosoof, R. Clinch, R. Cleary (Te Kauwhata), M. Eccles (Te Kauwhata). A. 11. Berry, C. Hay Chapman, George Furniss (Ruawaro), G. Scurr.
