“I shall be handing over the dlooese to younger hands oertalnly not later than 1939. I shall have finished 50 years' work In London and 36 years as Bishop of London.” With these words Dr. Winnlngton Ingram, who Is a bachelor In his 80th year, revealed to the London Diocesan Conference at the Central Hall, Westminster, that he is about to retire. Ing the past 50 years included: Cinemas and Wireless. —These inventions have livened up people’s wits and brought the existence of the Church to many people’s notice for the first time. His Ambition. Girls’ Diocesan Association. —A fine type of young woman attends our meetings. The work they do afterwards in a sincere and cheerful way has become a tremendous influence for good. The Growth of London.—The Church can hardly keep pace with it.
