KIHIKIHI NOTES.

TENNIS DANCE. The Klhlklhl Tennis Club held an extra dance In the Kihiklhl Town Hall recently. There was a good attendance and the hall looked most attractive, decorated in the club’s colours, blue and gold. Mr W. McGhle was M.C., and excellent music was played by Mrs Leckic’s Orchestra from Cambridge. A novelty dance \vas won by Miss Halsey anrl partner. The following committee was responsible for the decorations, supper, and evening’s entertainment: Mrs .T. Cook, Misses I. Penny, L. Crook, M. Brown and M. Crook, and Messrs J. Anderson, It. Brown, E, Penny, W. McGhie and J. Thomson. Supper was served by the ladies. League of Mothers. The Kihiklhl branch of the League of Mothers held its monthly meeting at Mrs C. Lees’ residence recently, there being a good attendance of members. The meeting opened with the singing of the National Anthem led by Mrs H. Askew, following which the president read the aims and objects, and also the rules of the league. The roll-call was held, and correspondence dealt with. Letters were received from the Hamilton branch, Dr. Rogers, of Te Awamutu, and the Kihiklhl Town Board. Business in connection with I lie league’s second birthday and flrst husbands’ night to be held in Hie Kihiklhl Town Hall on July 30 was arranged. Thanks and appreciation were accorded Mrs J. Hobinson. a league member, for making a table-clolh. and apologies were received from Mrs- i dames Donaldson, Sutherland, Robinson, and J. and A. Anderson. The thought for Hie month was forwarded by Mrs Falconer, and Mrs G. Lawny, of Orakau. read an amusing playette. It was proposed by Hie president and seconded bv Mrs Marquiss that the. league’s appreciation to Mrs J. Anderson for making the afternoon lea for I lie vear !>■> Place,! on record. A vote of thanks was accorded Mrs C. Lees for the use The president, Mrs G. MrGhie, then pronounced the Benediction and brought the afternoon’s meeting to a I lie ladies.
