AFFECTED BY IMPORTS. MANUFACTURERS’ CONCERN. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday. 'Concern at the Increasing volume of footwear Imports, mainly from the United Kingdom, and the consequent effect on local industry, was voiced bv Mr Duckworth, of Christchurch, president, of the New Zealand Footwear Manufacturers’ Association at the annual meeting to-day. Mr Duckworth also emphasised the difficulties the industry was facing through the operation of the Government’s Industrial legislation.
