Parker (United States) defeated C. E. Hare (Great Britain), 6 — 2, 6 4, 6 — 2. J. D. Budge (United States) defeated H. W. Austin (Great Britain), B—6, 3—6, 6—4, 6—3. Parker out-manoeuvres Hare. Dull weather reacted against Hare md Parker, who started somnolently. The American awakened first and broke two of the Englishman's services for the set 6—2. Hare, who thrived on Budge’s speed on Saturday, was unable to counter Parker’s -versatility or deal with his changes rff pace. Moreover, his slowness of foot enabled Parker to outmanoeuvre him. The Englishman won two love service games, but the American took the set 6—4. Hare won the first two games in \he third set. and after that relapsed, louble-faulting. over-driving and netting. Parker won six games In suclesslon for the set., thus giving PSrker Jhe match and America the Davis Cup. A Mere Exhibition. The Budge-Austin match was now a mere exhibition.
