Mr L. N. Sargent, of Hamilton, will leave by the Awalea, on August 6, for Sydney on a holiday and business trip.
Mr J. H. Furnlss, of Huntly, returned to Hamilton to-day from the King Country, where he has been organising in connection with the compensating price campaign.

The Rev. C. E. Newbould, lately canon of St. Peter’s Cathedral. Hamilton, and priest in charge of the Okato parochial district, has been appointed vicar of Ilainton with Sixhills, Lincoln.
Tributes to the memory of the late Mr A. M. Stirling, formerly manager of the Morrinsville Co-operative Dairy Company, were paid at the annual meeting of the company held in Morrinsville yesterday. At the annual meeting of the New Zealand Co-operative Herd Testing Association to-day a resolution was passed placing on record appreciation of the valuable services of Mr H. M. Neal, of North Auckland, a retiring director. At tine first meeting of the New Zealand Poultry Board for the current registration ‘year, Mr A. E. Knowles of Auckland, was elected chairman. Mr A. J. Severn, Upper Hutt, was appointed producers’ representative on the board. Messrs E. McKenzie (Walrarapa), G. Nicholson (Auckland), M. F. Nicholls (Wellington), J. T. Burrows (Canterbury), A. A. Adams (West Coast, South Island) and W. A. Pearson (Otago), the New Zealand Rugby selectors, were in Hamilton to-day for Hie Springboks—Combined team match.
