WHITIKAHU NOTES.

ENJOYABLE EVENING. A very enjoyable evening was spent at the residence of Air R. Harris at Whitlkahu recently to celebrate the 2 oth birthday of Air Vic Harris. The evening was spent with games, competitions, items and music, a car competition being won by Aliss Betty Brown and a flower competition by Airs Gcddes. Mouth-organ solos were given by Air S. Linguard. At the conclusion of the party, Air Bennett on behalf of those present took the. opportunity of wishing Mr V. Harris many happy returns of the day, and also thanked Mr and Airs Anderson anti Mr Roy Harris for an enjoyable evening. To receive the guests, Afrs Anderson wore a brown and fawn ensemble,. Among those, present were:—Alesdames McCaliuin, Leith, Scott, Bennett, Caddigan, Herbert, Geddes. Misses Lois Anion, Joan Leith, Betty Scott, Shirley Herbert, Joyce Herbert, Betty Brown. Mr Anderson announced that a parly would he held on August 14 for funds to he handed to the Whitlkahu Hall Committee. The hostesses would be Airs Anderson and Mrs Scott.

CARD PARTY.

A 500 party was held in the local school recently when there was a fair attendance. ‘winners for the evening were -Mrs W. Best and Air Roy Amon. • _____
