TAUHEI GATHERING.

EARLY SETTLERS ENTERTAINED. A very pleasant evening was spent in Ihe Tan hoi Hall on Saturday. Dio occasion being an entertainment to all lliose settlers who had been in Die district for 21 years or more. The miosis of Iho evening wore Mr and Mrs V. Seifert. Mrs Pilkinglon. Mr and •Mrs J. Brown and family. Mr and Mrs X. 131-own and family, Mrs A. Noble and family, and Mr and Mrs I. B. Harris and family. The evening was spent in old-lime danees. and musical items, ole. Songs wore given by Mrs R. McCalhtm and jJßm&lnued lu column.}

Ihe Misses A. Fergusson and McKay, and elocution by Miss Crow and the Rev. Naylor. The Mayor of Morrinsville, Air \Y. T. Osborne, welcomed Die guests on behalf of the Tauliei Ilall Society. The arrangements for Die evening were in Die hands of Die hail committee. Messrs A. E. Gee and Ward were M’s.C. The music was played by Mrs Morgan and family, with the assistance of Mrs Bennett at the piano. Speeches were given on behalf of Die guests by Messrs Seifert. J. and N. Brown, J. and B. Noble and 1 B Harris. The hall was beautifully decorated, and at supper the guests were, entertained at a separate table with the birthday cake, with 21 candles. A feature of the entertainment was community singing led by Miss Porter, of Morrinsville.
