CRITICISM OF ARCHBISHOP. “'CURSED INSTEAD OF PRAYED.” CHAMPIONSHIP BY VATICAN. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. NEW YORK, July 25. A telegram from Rochester, New York, states that the Rev. Anderson Jardine, who performed the religious ceremony at the Duke of Windsor's wedding, replied to-day to an article published in the official organ of the Vatican, Osservatore Romano, criticising his reference In his lecture at Baltimore three days ago to ‘‘the ecclesiastical Archbishop of Canterbury.” who, he added, “cursed instead of praying." Mr Jardine said: “ I am still unable to think of a deser ption fitting the Archbishop more perfectly. I am not surprised at the Vatican's championship of Dr. Lang and I welcome 11 because it prtves to the world what England has known for many yjar?—namely, that the Archbishop of Canterbury Is too friendly with the Vatican and is doing more lo destroy the work of the Reformation than anyone in the Church of England.”
