In view of the Labour Parliamentarians’ decision on July 22 exceptional interest was taken in the House of Commons in vote on the Navy Estimates. Four members of the Independent Labour Party challenged a division, during which the Labour -benches remained almost filled with members not voting. Tlie Estimates were carried by 326 to 9 votes. The Army and Air Estimates were agreed to similarly. 2000 NEW AEROPLANES. BIG PLANS FIOR 1938. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright LONDON, July 26. The provision of 2000 new aeroplanes 40 new warships, 20,000 machine-guns and thousands of tanks, it Is reported, will be the chief features of the British rearmament plans for 1938. Steps will be taken, also, to strengthen the bases at Gibralter, Malta and Aden.
