KEEN DEMAND
STOCK AT FRANKTON. BRIGHT BEEF MARKET. PIGS IN SHARP REQUEST. Another buoyant market was experienced In all departments at the weekly Frankton stock sale to-day when all classes of stock were forward In average supply. The entry of ox beef was an average one and a brighter tone prevailed throughout the sale and values were inclined to firm a shade on last week. The entry was mixed but all descriptions were in good request. Prices for the best ranged from £ll 10s to £l3. Firm values were returned over the early sale of cows and heifers and the market was fully firm. Boners also -sold under keen competition, while a full entry of calves sold at unchanged rates. Fat sheep were forward in good numbers and, while values for best wethers remained unchanged, there was not the same keen demand for unfinished -sorts and values for this class were a shade easier. Keea competition was again forthcoming for ewes and all lines sold at last week’s rates. A similar position was experienced in the fat lamb section, where all pens were readily cleared. A small entry of light and medium weight porkers was in exceptionally keen demand and prices rose sharply by 10s per head and up to B£d per pound was realised.
