PALESTINE REPORT.
PRESENTATION AT GENEVA. POSTPONEMENT WELCOMED. (Official Wireless.) RUGBY, July 23. Mr W. Ormsby Gore, Secretary of State for the Colonies, will leave London on Tuesday for Geneva, where he will lay the report of the Palestine ■Commission before the permanent mandates commission, which will begin Its sittings on Friday, and its conclusions will go before the League Council in September. When Parliament reassembles on October 21 It will be able to take up the issue again in the light of the League’s proceedings, and the Government, after adequate inquiry, will present a definite scheme.
Meanwhile the Government’s decision to agree to a further inquiry before the final adoption of a scheme has been received by both Arabs and Jews in Palestine.
