The latter, In their first innings, made only 9i runs, the top-scorcr being Miss Turner with 18. Miss McClarty took six wickets for 21, and Miss Antonio two for 22. The Australians in their first innings made 160 for five wickets (Miss Antonio, not out, GG, and Miss Barbara Peden. 47). Miss McClarty caused the collapse of the Englishwomen. At one Stage she had taken four wickets for 9. The crowd applauded her slow leg breaks and was amazed by the accuracy of her throw-ins. Miss Antonio gave a great batting display, driving and cutting powerfully.
