The •county cricket competitions were continued during the week, but rain interfered with some of the matches. The results were:— Middlesex v. Worcester. —Middlesex, first innings 248 (Price 80) ; second innings 275 for four wickets declared (Edrich 81). Worcester, first innings 156 (Gray took four for 32); second 153 (Smith took five for 61). Middlesex won by 214 runs.

Sussex v. Leicester. —Sussex, first innings 351 (James Langridge 85); second 173 for four wickets. Leicester, first innings 236 (Armstrong 108, J. Parks took five for 32). Sussex won on the first innings. Yorkshire v, Glamorgan.—Yorkshire: First Innings 255 (Yardley 98; E. Davies took 5 for 57); seoond innings, 103 for five wlokets, declared. Glamorgan: First innings 150 (Verity took 5 for 38) ; second, 104 for five wlokets. Yorkshire won on the first inning's. Lancashire v. Kent. —Lancashire: First innings 235 (Watt took 5 for 68) ; second, 2*83 for eight wickets, declared (Iddon 99). Kent: First innings 126 (Pollard took 5 for 34); second, 36 for one wicket. Lancashire won on the first innings. Somerset v. Hampshire.— Somerset: First innings, 315 for nine wickets, declared (Gimblett 141); seoond, 241 for four wickets, declared. Hampshire: First innings 230 (Walker 99 not out; Wellard took five for 50) ; second, 257. Somerset won by 69 runs. Gloucester v. Essex. —Gloucester: First innings 150 (Nichols took 7 for 61); second, 205 for five wickets, declared (Barnett 79, Hammond 60 not out). Essex: First innings 170 (Goddard took 6 for 58); second, 66 (Goddard took 5 for 22 and Sinfield 5 for 27). Gloucester won by 119. Northampton v. Nottingham.—Northampton: First innings, 226. Nottingham: First innings 116 for no wickets. The match was drawn.
