WEDDINGS.
BLAOKMORE —PROUDLOOK. The marriago was solemnised at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Hamilton, on the afternoon of July 10, between Ada Elisabeth, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs A. A. Proudlook, of Clarence Street, Hamilton, and Alfred Trevor, youngest son of Mr and Mrs A. C. Blaokmore, Horsham Downs, Hamilton.
The P.ev. H. G. Gilbert performed the ceremony and Mr E. H. Apthorp presided at the organ. Tho bride who entered the church with her father wore a beautiful frock of silver-white lacquered satin, out on direotoire llne6, olose fitting to the knees and flaring Into a long train. The square neckline was finished with a Medici collar and the full sleeves which were ill ting from the elbow fell In polnt-s over the hands. The waistline was finished with a plaited belt. She wore a veil of silk tulle embroidered with silver with a halo of orange blossom, and oarrled a -sheaf of narcissi, rosea and maidenhair fern.
The bridnsmahis were Miss Yvonne Blaokmore (sister of the bridegroom) and Miss Ailsa Morrison, of Auckland. They wore similar frooks of Holyrood green ring velvet, made on olose fitting lines, the bodices being shirred at the neckline to form small sleeves and the skirts falllfijlf"lnto small trains. They wore halos of green and silver flowers and oarried bouquets of Iceland popples, spring flowers and maidenhair fern.
Mr E. Alexander was best man and Mr R. Proudlock (brother of the bride), was groomsman. After the ceremony, a reoeption was held at the Centreway Rooms, which were decorated in green and white. Mrs Proudlock received her guests wearing a graceful frock of black windswept satin and black aeale-tte coat with hat to tone. She oarried a posy of autumn shaded flowers and maidenhair fern. Mrs Blackmore, mother of the bridegroom, wore a smart navy blue tailored oostume with hat to tone. She carried a posy of scarlet oyolamen, daphne and fern. When Mr and Mrs A. T. Blackmore left for a motor tour, the bride travelled in a rust fur-trimmed suit, with hat and accessories to tone.
They will make their home at Horsham Downs, Hamilton.
BATTS O N—STEWART. The marriage was solemnised at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Pending, on July 17, between Francis P. M. Battson, only son of Mrs and the late Mr Charles F. Battson, of Te Awamutu, and Mavis Winifred, daughter of Mr and the late Mrs H. O. Stewart, of Fellding. The Rev. A. L. Dixon performed the oeremony. The church had been very beautifully arranged i>y friends of the bride in toning shades of peach, with a largo white wedding-bell of roses. The bride wore a lovely gown of Ivory sheerlan lace, slim fitting, and flaring to an oval train Inset with satin panels and with cowl neck. She wore an embroidered lace veil with pearl coronet, and carried a bouquet of St. Joseph lilies, white oamellias and maidenhair fern, tied with silver ribbon. Miss Edna Stewart (sister of the bride) was the bridesmaid and wore peach sheerlan lace, with faggoted godets in satin, flaring to the train, silver Cowers and ribbon finishing the waistline, and a coronet of silver ribbons. Her bouquet was of shaded pink camellias, gypsophyila and maidenhair fern, tied with silver ribbon. Master Noel Hostick was the page boy, and wore a blue satin suit with lace jabot and frilled cuffs. Mr Clarence E. Humphrey was best After the oeremony a reception was held in the Beresford Rooms, Miss V. Stewart (sister of the bride) leceivIng the guests, assisted by Mrs C. F. Battson. Later Mr and Mrs Battson left for the North, the bride travelling wearing a navy costume, with hat and aocossories to matoh, and carrying a fur stole. They will make their home in Te Awamutu. BEGBIE—OOBTON. The marriage was solemnised at St. George s Church, Frankton, on the morning of July 14, between Mary Bromley, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs H. Coston, of Te Kowhai, and Ronald George, elder son of Mr and Mrs J. c. Begble, of Te Koivhaf. The Rev. R. j. Boyt performed the cere(Continued In next column.)
mony and Mr W. Whitehead presided at the organ. The church had been very beautifully arranged by friends of the bride.
The bride, who entered the ohuroh with her father, wore a lovely gown of Chantilly laoe out on classical lines, the graoeful ekirt falling to a train of slipper satin. The bodice was fashioned with close-fitting sleeve* finishing In a point over the hand, and finishing with small buttons from the neok to the waistline. She wore a beautiful veil of embroidered tulle falling softly on to the train, and oarrled a bouquet of daphne, white Iceland popples, marguerites, daisies, rosebud*, and maidenhair and asparagus fern. Miss Nell Hughes was the bridesmaid and the Misses Eileen Coston and Mavis Begble were the flower girls. The bridesmaid wore a frock of aprioot lace out on classical lines, with ploture hat to tone, and the flowergirl* wore ankle-length frocks of aprtoot georgette over satin, and circlets of rosebuds to tone. They oarrled bouquets of lupin, stock, daphne, apple blossom, maidenhair and asparagus fern. Mr Dick Coston was the best man. Messrs W. Hughes and D. Begbie were the ushers. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Centreway Rooms, which had been most attractively arranged with bowls of Iceland popples, a cream wedding bell being suspended over the bridal couple. The bride’s mother was wearing a navy costume and hat, with flkunk fur, and carried a posy of violets. The bridegroom’s mother wore a navy costume and navy and white hat and carried a posy of violets. Mrs C. de Malmanche (grandmother of the bride) was wearing an ensemble of navy blue and carried a posy of autumn-tinted polyanthus. When Mr and Mrs R. G. Begble left by car for the honeymoon the bride travelled wearing a smart navy tailored costume, navy peaohbloom hat and accessories to matoh. They will make their home at Horotlu.
