This treatment lengthens the life of silk stockings. The salt strengthens the fabric and “sets” the dye. For Bcorched Linen. Wtxen a Saucepan Is Burnt. Burnt saucepans are sometimes filled with soda and water in order to remove the burnt portions. This method, however, is liable to make them burn easily when they are used again.
