SCOTLAND’S COLLAPSE
NEW ZEALAND’S EASY WIN. WEATHER FAVOURS VISITORS. GALLICHAN’S EXCELLENT BOWLING (Prom the Special Correspondent of the United Press Association with the team.) United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. (Received July 23, 3.15 p.m.) DUNFERMLINE, July 22. New Zealand favoured by the weather, won the so-called second test against Scotland by an innings and 52 runs. Continuing their first innings, tho visitors had scored 259 runs for eight wickets when they declared. Scotland were all out for 53 in their first outing and in their second knock showed better form by scoring 154 but not enough to avert defeat. The weather conditions alternated between rain and sun and made the wicket difficult. After Page had been dismissed quickly, Donnelly batted brilliantly, the eighth wicket partnership adding 50 rims at a great pace. Wnen New Zealand declared, four hours remained for play but Scotland collapsed. Donnelly made good use of the wicket, keeping a good length and spinning the ball well. Gibb batted brightly in Scotland’s second innings, but little opposition was forthcoming from the other batsmen. Gallichan, who was unable to strike length in the first innings, bowled with excellent control in the second innings having the best analysis for the tour. Roberts Better. An encouraging feature of the match was the fact that Roberts bowled in both Innings without discomfort. It Is now probable he will be able to play In the test. The New Zealanders will stay tonight at Dunfermline and will travel to Manchester to-morrow. Scores: NEW ZEALAND. First Innings.
