OBITUARY.
MRS. A. E. T. DEVORE. (Special to Times.) AUCKLAND, Friday. The death occurred yesterday on the eve of her 85th birthday of Mrs. Charlotte Elizabeth Devore, of Parnell, a former Mayoress of Auckland. With the late Mr. J. B. Russell, her husband, Mr. A. E. T. Devore established I lie legal firm of Russell and Devore, and until his death in 1916 was one of Auckland's leading solicitors. In 1882 lie was elected to the City Council and held office unopposed as Mayor from 1880 lo 1889. For more Ilian 60 years Mrs. Devore took a prominent part in social and philanthropic activities. She is survived by a son and four daughters.
