OLD-TIME DANCE.

WAITOA ANGLICAN CHURCH. An old-time dance organised by the Waitoa Anglican Church Ladies’ Committee was held In the local hall recently and proved very successful, visitors from all the surrounding districts being present. A very pleasant evening was enjoyed, music being supplied by Mr 'Knyvett and Miss Patty Klaus. Novelty waltzes were won by Mrs J. Cook and Mr W. Butler and Miss Jean Vercoe and Mr J. Doughty. A progressive 500 tournament was ‘held in conjunction with the dance, the winners being Mrs L. MPes and Mr H. Forbes. A hidden number competition was won by Mr F. Mawhinney. At the conclusion of the card tournament a delicious supper was served by the ladies, after which dancing was continued with Mr J. H. Marsden as M.C. Mr G. Forbes had charge of the card room.
