HAMILTON WEST SCHOOL.
MR. 8. L. SEARELL RESIGNB. POLICE ASSISTANCE SOUGHT. Regret was exp essed at a meeting of the committee of the Hamilton West School when accepting the lesignation of Mr. S. L. Searell. who had left to take up a position in a Government department in Wellington. It vas decided to place on record the valuable service rendered by Mr. Searell during the last eighteen months. Mr. N. .1. Holden was elected chairman for the remainder of the term. It was pointed out by the secretary that out of the original nine members of the committee elected eighteen months ago only four remained. The main business of the meeting consisted of reviewing the correspondence in connection with the proposed building of H new school at the end of Fow Street. The headmaster reported that almost all the children at the West School were now taking milk. The attendance was higher at MelviHe and Hamilton West than the previous month. It was decided to apply for polici assistance to keep the grounds fret from trespassers at night and durini j week-ends. The . school had beei i broken into during the holidays an« i the teachers’ desks left in disorder.
