President 01‘ the League of Nations Assembly, had a telephonic conversation, with .\i. Avoiioi, the League Secretary, in regard to the requests of the Argentine Government that an early meeting of the Assembly should be summoned. The Times says it is not expected that the British Government. will take the iniutivc in suggesting the removal 0! sanctions at present in operation against. italy. A Geneva press message received later in London states that following the demand of the Argentine republic. and in conflrmity with the decision taken on October 11 not to close its 16th session, .\l. Renee. after consulting the President of the Council and Mr Anthony Eden, decided to summon a. meeting of the Assembly. The date will he fixed very shortly. It was generally expected the Assembly will he called on‘June 29. and the Council mos-ling fixed for the 16th will accordingly be postponed till the 26th.
