NORTHERN ASSOCIATION. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. DOMINION CHAMPIONSHIPS. (By Telemann—Press Aesoriminn.) HAWERA. Wednesday. At the annual meeting of the North Island Sheep Dog Trial Association last evening, the following officers were elected r—Patron, Mr \V. H. Gaisford (Danuex‘lrke); president, Mr W. H. James (.\lastertor}; treasurer. Mr W. H. Galsford; auduor, Mr N. G. W'ylle (Takapau); executive, Messrs R. J. MacDonald (Dannevirke), L. Lopdell (Hawke’s Bay). Q. VVllllams {Poverty Bay), H, R. Scott (Hawem). A. C. B. Munro (W'anganui), J. )IcHardy (Mataroa), H. Sloane (\Vhangarei).
The points for the various events were amended as follows, the. previous poinls being in parent‘hesesz—Long hEad: heading 2‘2 (17), pull ‘22 (I'7), ring 6 (A). command (UM—total 50 (50). Short head: Heading 13 (10). pull 13 (10), drive 5 (4), hurdle 5 (4), drive 5 (4), work at, yard 13 (10), yarding 6 (6), command (l2)—10131 60 (60). Huntaway: Huntawrl‘! 2!. (18), noise 12 (9), style 9 (6). command (Tn—total 45 (/15).
A remit from Poverty Bay, that the executive of the Association be asked to increase the monetary grants to the centres when in a position to do so‘ was carried.
The Masterton Club was allotted the, Norih Island championships 'for 1937. The first Dominion championship meeting in conjunction with the Norm Island championships is prooeedilng at Hawera. Entries are a record and the meeting probably will continue into next. week. The long head championship is now being contesled with 103 entries.
