F, Broadbent, of Sydney, has been awarded the liarmon Air Trophy at thelLigue International D‘Arinteurs. Paris, as the British airman who did the most to advance aviation in 1935. Mr Brondbeni established a record for the flight round Australia. and he also holds the solo iligllt aeroplane re—cord for the trip from England to Australia. In 1931 Mr Uroadbent made a solo [light from Brisbane to Adelaide. \‘izn Sydney and Melbourne, in one day. The distance covered \\‘as about 1350. miles. Later in the same year the Mr—man llew 7315 miles round Australia in seven days iii hours, which was l\\") days in hours less than the pl'e\— lous record held by the late Sir Charles Ktngsford Smith.
