FAREWELL EVEN INGS.

NGARUAWAHIA FUNOTION. Mr and Mrs V. Gillanders, who are leaving Ngaruswahia to reside in New Lyn, were given a very pleasant farewell evenan recently by the residents of River Road. The evening was spent in musical items, dancing, and play-reading by Miss N. Paterson and D. McCorquindale. Mr and Mrs Gillanders were the recipients of several presentations, a dinner service from those present, a allver cake dish by Mrs J. Taylor, and a picture by Mr R. E. Bell. Those present were Mr and Mrs .\irs .\lcGorquindale. Mesdames Gork, BirkeH, 11. Hutt, Given. Ward, Neild, A. Paterson, Kelm, Zimmerman, J. Taylor. ' Misses P. Topliss, Kelm, Paterson, ‘Gork, Waugh, Douglas. TAUPIRI BIBLE GLASS. . , Members of the Taupiri Methodist Bible Class and friends gathered at. the residence of Mr and Mrs T. Eagleson. senr.. Tnupiri, recently. to 'bid farewell to Mr Allen Cleaver, who has been an active member of the class for the past. two years and who is leaving the district. The. Rev. B. 11. Chrystall spoke in glowing terms of the work Mr Cleaver had done for the class and Mr A. Reekie. deputy-leader, asked the guest to accept a 'book as a token of esteem. Mr Cleaver suitably replied. The evening was spent in games and competitions. Those present included Mesdsmes T. Eagleson, senr., F. Jerome, 'l‘. Reekie. A. L. Button. 'l‘. Eagleson, Junr. Misses E. Silvester, M. Easieson, V.
