NEGLIGENT DRIVER.
«HOGAN AGAIN IN COURT. REMANDED FOR SENTENCE. Found guilty by a jury yesterday 01 negligently driving a motorvlorry at \Vhatawhata so as to cause the death of three public works employees. Leonard Reay Grosan. labourer. of Hamilton. was further remanded tor sontence when he appeared before Mr Justice Fair in the Supreme Court at Hamilton to-day. In returning their Verdict yesterday. the Jury recommended the prisoner to mercy and re—quested His Honour to direct the attention of the Raglan County Council to the dangerous camber of the road at the scene or the accident. In remanding Grogan to appear for sentence on Wednesday. His Honour said that he had considered the case and the penalty that should be imposed hut he was of the opinion that it should receive further thought when a man named Kingsley who had pleaded guilty to a similar charge came up {or sentence on Wednesday. He would prefer to hear the addresses of counsel in both cases before passing senience. ‘ His Honour allowed bail on similar terms to those permitted at the Police Court hearing.
