PUTARURU HUNT.
MEET A'l' LIOHFIELD. ‘ On Tuesday the recently formed Putaruru Hunt Club held its first hunt at Lichfleld Crossing in brilliant sun—shine. The weather conditiOns were excel—lent, nnd the hunt was a complete success. Over ‘SO members were present and visitors reams from as far‘ as Morrins—ville. and Cambridge. The hunt, commenced about. noon from the Crossing by Mr K. S. Cox's and proceeded over his form and Sur—rey Downs. The scent. was poor and although picked 11D from time to time it Was reneatediy lost. No -l<ill resulted. The riders. however, greatly enjoyed the sport and the horses tool: the fences well. The ladies provided most refresh—ing afternoon tea. Mr \\'ynn Brown, of Cambridge. who acted as Masiei‘ of the Hunt. thanked Mr \V. S. Cox for his efforts in helping to malie the ’aftcrnoou a success, and for allowing the «‘ourse to be over his farm. The. meet was followed by a ball at Lichfleid in the evening.
