GORDONTON FUNCTION.
soclAL EVENING. A very happy time was spent at. the social held in the Gordonion Hall on Saturday evening in honour of Miss Mary Sharp, whose marriage will take place shortly. There was a large attendance. and Mesdemes A. Morgan and A. G. Parflit acted as hostesses for the evening, Songs were given by Miss Molly McLeod and duets by Miss Evans and Mr Battershy. A dialogue entitled ”Buying Gloves" was given by Mrs Booker and Miss Betty Booker, and elocution by Mrs Booker. 1n stressing the sterling qualities of the guests of honour, Mr A. G. Parflit asked Miss Sharp and Mr Kempster‘ to wcept from the residents a hand-‘ some canteen of cutlery. Miss Mary‘ Williamson handed a lovely houqueti to Miss Sharp. Mr Kempster briefly returned thanks iror the good wishes extended. ' Dancing continued and a novelty dance was won by Miss Olive Humphrey and Mr W. Sharp. Mr J. Batiersby supplied excellent dance music and Mr L. Lister was M.C.
