The market tone throughout was steady the feature or the sale heins the sharp appreciation for baconers. With improved quality. entries. Including ox beef. sold under a keener demand and the \alues remained firm. A brighter sale was experienced {or cow and iieiter beef and values for the more attractive sorts were on a par with those ruling at the main centres. A small entry of valves sold readily at late rates. A full yardlng or fat sheep was forward and commanded brisk competition, last week's price level being maintained \\iihout difllculty. A decrease of id in the lambs schedule aflccied the market for lambs. which realised values a shade lower than those of last Tuesday. Fair competition was shown for a light entry of store sheep. Baconers were traded at substantially improved prices an animated demand for a limited supply. bringing up to 735. an improvement or is on the top price of last week. Porkers were again slow of sale, but prices showed little alteration. Quotations; Prime bullocks, £9 6! to £lO «is: medium, £7 13 to £8 19:: light, £6 105' to £7; prime cows and heifers, £5 to i": is; fat, £8 i9s to ££ 165.
