Such services frustrate the objects which the cable conference in 1929 endeav—oured to attain. Moreover, the maintenance of efficient cables was essential in view of Imperial defence Major Denison-Pender added: “ The Government has refused to convene an Imperial cable and wireless conference to consider the matter. Accordingly we have requested that ‘comn;u--nications' should be included in the agenda at the forthcoming imperial Conference."
