GABRIEL’S GULLY MINE. ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNJCDIN, Thursday. The 75fcli anniversary of Gabriel Read’s Ending- of gold avas celebrated at Lawrence yesterday. The principal function was a public meeting attended by several hundreds of people including Mr W. A. Bodkin, M.P. A wreath was placed on the cairn erected to Read and the following pioneer celebrities planted trees: Messrs. Francis Moyle (97), William Ayson, John Munro, F. w. Knight, Daniel Keenan, Andrew Burns (90), of Wellington, Bichard Norman, Mrs Gain, the first girl born in Gabriel's Gully, and Mr Joseph Bentley, the first boy born in the Gully.
