At a meeting or the executive of the \Vaikato Agricultural and Pastoral Assoclation to-day, the president, Mr Neil field, was granted leave of absence for three months.
Mr J. S. Neville, town clerk, or Christchurch, has completed 35 year-3' service with the Christchurch City Council. He was appointed town dark 12 years ago.
At the annual meeting of the Claudelands Bowling Club last evening a period of silence was o‘hserved out of respect for the late Mr C. R. B. Speight. a former president and patron of the club.
