HAPPY EVENING HELD. The Plarere home of Mr J. \\‘. Anderson, was the scene of festivity I'o— when a large party of friends gathered to celebrate his birthday. Mrs McTagsart acted as hostess and congratulatory speeches were made by several of the guests. The customary candle-decorated birthday cake was cut to musical honours.
FAREWELL PARTY.
Mrs \\'. \\‘ere, who will sail shortly on an extended trip to England, was entertained by a number of friends in order to provide an opportunity to bid her hon vowse. Mrs 'C. E. Barry acted as hostess and presented Mrs \Vere with an auto—graphed copy of “ Journeylng Through New Zealand." by Alan Mulgan. Among those presenl warez—Bles—dames Barry, Bell, Barrman.
