M-” runs FOR EARLY SPRING. There are many new furs for wear—ing round the neck this season, says the London Times. Besides single 01‘ double‘ siiw‘r foxes, there an: furs lilac feather hues. which are walked into bolster shapes and are finished at me ends \\'Hh tails. Favourite I'm-s are white fox dyed grey and brown to match suits. Red fox and cross fox look well with navy 'blue 01' black; natural wolf and skunk with iweeds. There arc ilut si-ole scarves ui' smuolh, Short“hi‘lil‘l‘ll furs such as squirrel, ermine, stud. and Persian and Indian lamb. \\'llh sports suits short cravat
scarves of fltch, sa‘ble, and marten can be worn. Full rape stoles of double foxes, silver and red, and of white i‘ox i‘urs dyed, are mounted to fit the shoulders, and have lung straight stole ends; they go well with neat tailored suits. The new i‘ur cranes have an exaggerated back fullnesg by means of gathers or inverted pleats. .For daytime there are copes of silver fox and for even—ing linger—tip length capes ot‘ fax or ermine. White lamb is likely to the worn by (lay and in the evening. Spring ‘ clothes often show a jacket 01‘ i'ur, worked us intricately us if it were cloth. Olinging Evening Gowns. For the evening there are now slim clinging gowns of satin or heavy dull crepe without fullness or trimming, ‘but gauged to mould closely the bust and hip line; the necklines are square and the shoulder straps narrow. Wide—skirted gowns, with square necks and short putt sleeves, are of net, fine lace or tulle. generally dark, and' are trimmed with ruffles at the hem and mounted on stiff slips of taffetas'. Filmy chiflou gowns have flowering shoulder scarves and are trimmed with jewelled belts and clips. Fine Crepes and romaines make dinner dresses pleated from shoulder to hem; the‘ 'wide eape sleeves are also pleated, Printed crepe de chine dresses havei large flowers on white or black grounds and are out on slim lines with ex-‘ ‘agse-rated :deoolletages. Duchess satin and printed tafietas are used for 'pl‘illeess dresses with low—cut necks and exaggerated buck fullness. 1n eon—trust are the dinner suits, some severe and masculine in style, others with liriiied ‘basques, short sleeves, and or— Igundi ruffles.
