LARGER CREAM SUPPLY.
OTOROHANGA EXPERIENCE. SHORTAGE OF HEIFER CALVES. (Special to Times.) OTOROHANGA, Wednesday. The volume of cream arriving at the Otorohanga factory or the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company and at the receiving stations or the Waikato Valley Dairy Company is well in advance of previous supplies in May. Dairy rarmers report a good season with an absence, generally speaking, of the various ills and maladies to which dairy cows are prone. Owing to the high price paid Tor bacon pigs during the past season, many herdsmen used their skimmed milk for pigs and sold all their calves for the bobby calf export trade. Consequently, there Is a distinct shortage of heirer calves for replacements in herds. Dairying heiTers are expected to be expensive buying in the coming >cason.
