INCREASE IN BRITAIN. COST OF LIVING HIGHER. (Official Wireless.) RUGBY, May 17. Information received by the Ministry of Labour of the changes in the rales of wages which came Into operation In April shows an increase of nearly £34.000 in the weekly fulltime wages of 332,500 workers, with the offset of a decrease of £2900, affecting 79,000 workers. The cost of living index of the Ministry of Labour on May i was approximately 4 i per cent above Ihe level of July, 191 i, compared with 39 per cent a year ago. It was unchanged from that of April 1.
